this is what long covid feels like [CW: body horror illustration, occasional art nudity]

The bookmark is divided in half. on the left side, a figure has water up to their nose. their hair is short and flicked back. The water is teal and light blue on top, and as it goes deeper it becomes more purple. The text "Before all of this I often felt like" is written above the water. Just below the surface, where the body's chest is, it says "I was barely able to keep my head above water."

on the right half of the bookmark, the sea level has risen to cover the entire memo section, almost to the top of the paper. The sea starts the same level of teal and light blue in the first panel, but fades much more quickly and darkly to deep purple. Next to where it said before, it reads: "Now it feels like"

underneath that is the other half of the face, concerned, eyebrows and forehead scrunched, hair floating around them. it continues at their chest "each one of my communities is being attacked." The purple swirls over teal and light blue quickly become an ocean of purple with accents of teal.

into the leg the next text continues, framed by dark purple overtaking the rest of the sea, whose swirling lines are more and more vertical and made up of repeated lines, reminiscent of clawing, like a whole hand applying finger scratches.

Before all of this, I often felt like
I was barely able to keep my head above water
Now it feels like
each one of my communities is being attacked
each hit they make puts me & us
