this is what it feels like [CW: illness, body horror illustration]

Treatment: Zen Practice

The body however, is dripping in oozing ink, reddish sheen and blue particulate. Despite this, the figure is in gasshou, a pose with two hands in prayer at the chest. The face is content and happy, eyes shut peaceably and mouth smiling. The pain and discomfort of disease does not mean that there is only dis-ease.

Treatment: Zen Practice
I can accept change and find ease.

A statue of a Jizō, a protector bodhisattva. The statue is a white figure whose face is at peace eyes closed contentedly and smiling, while draped in mala prayer beads and holding a staff serenely. Even though his body is crumbling, dissintigrating, this does not impact his sense of peace and wellbeing.

I connected deeply to this figure during my Sesshin (zen meditation retreat). Despite his body’s unwellness, he is at peace, and still makes of himself a light for others. Thank you, Ojizō-sama.
